Expensive I know but I don’t think there’s other lightweight options that can be sealed so well so I got one. It’s worked out great for the 2 backpack trips I’ve taken it on. I use a steripen so i use it as my collection water and then steri with it and transfer to my water bottle. I also use it for my second spare litre of water and ultimately my cooking pot. I haven’t cold soaked yet but that’s a future plan as well. I like the idea of cold pasta and mayo (paks) for lunch. Apparently it can pressure lock at elevation (or heat change) but you just slide a knife between the seal and it’ll pop easily.

So these are super pricy, are there any other similarly sized alternatives with a similar lid to buy anywhere? In steel would probs be just fine too, if the price is lower.

You mean heat of the day, right, not heated from stove? I wouldn't ever cook with it sealed. When flipped over, the top makes a nice lid for cooking.

scopeThe heat from the heated food contained within, more specifically.

Got mine the last drop. I’m used to the space in the lid and can get it cleaned with little problem now. Just takes a bit to make sure. It’s my single use container for everything now that it has handles. Yah, I could have used my pot gripper like my other Bot. But one less thing to pack is nice.

Would be great if Vargo created a companion cup that nested perfectly (no rattle!) over the bottom of this container. One with, say, 250-300ml capacity. Bonus points if it had matching folded handles, made from titanium and had graduated measurement markings. And maybe an optional lid. It’s all about the nesting! Bundle us, Baby!

Can you elaborate a bit on the Toaks 550/Vargo 1L BOT nesting? Does the 550 fit all the way to the bottom of the BOT, or do the lips catch?

jkprowThe lips from the Toaks 550 will catch. Therefore, the Toaks will not reach the bottom of the Vargo.

A better lid should've been the priority. Washing the poorly designed lid is the greatest pain..

Handles, long overdue. The one liter is now is a useful item. I don't know that it is worth $90 given the other alternatives and how light a plastic water bottle is.

Much more useful design with the handles, if this had been available when I was buying titanium cooking gear, I may have purchased this instead.

So if this is a massdrop exclusive, how can they have a retail price listed that this is a discount of?

"We're lucky enough to have such a great relationship with Vargo that they allowed our members access to it first :)" What an honor. And at only 90 bucks! :)

Looks like it is just the regular 1 liter BOT with the addition of the folding handles. The main reason I bought the 700 ml BOT was because it had handles. If the 1 liter had them then I might have bought that instead. I think an 850 ml BOT with folding handles would hit the sweet spot for me.

Yes, this is the 1L BOT with folding handles. They are adding this to their collection after seeing many of our members ask for it.

rkhpaA 800-850mL bot would be the sweet spot with the current design. If the lid wasn't so poorly designed, the 700mL would be perfect, but I digress.
What do they mean by HD? Is this different from previous versions?
