A few tips on using this stove: 1) Like many alcohol stoves, the designer intended you to pre-heat the fuel so it combusts with pressure and drives the jets. For this, it works well to put a bit of fuel in a bottle cap under the stove. 2) A wind screen makes a big difference to "keep the heat in." Mine is made of an old pop or beer can with the edges sanded smooth. 3) Plan for spills, put it on something. You can get Teflon sheets online for cheap, they're light and also work great as grill covers. 4) There are many test results online to help choose a fuel ("alcohol stove fuel comparison"). Methyl Hydrate and Yellow Heet work well. Everclear works, but it burns a bit cooler and costs more.
