I have a different compact bellow but can't imagine camping without it anymore. This thing is incredibly effective and makes your fire starting/reviving so much easier. I've never used this brand but trust me and get one and you'll be glad. Here's the one I have. Cheaper, more compact, and probably more efficient since the end tip is narrower for more concentrated air flow, but without ferro:

utopikOddly enough, Amazon offered me an Asurion bike protection warranty when I ordered mine.

utopikYep, bellows are a must for me now. One trip was enough to convert me.

utopikThis is what I have. Half the weight of the Vargo and nothing to melt or get lost.

BradySure, but the Vargo has a rod and striker built in. It's a bit of an apples to oranges comparison. Granted I already have plenty of firestarters, but the idea of having one self-contained with the bellows is rather appealing, although I haven't weighed my fire starters to see if it would be a net weight/volume loss or add. If the starter included in the Vargo works well this would be a great "all in one". I suspect it would actually make a really great gift for someone who doesn't have a starter yet.

EverythingIsBetterOutdoorsI thought of that, and I do like the firestarter being integral. Just a little concerned about stripping the plastic or dropping the firesteel. Also, that kind of striker is terrible. A flat surface would be better. In the end, I ended up getting it off Amazon for a better deal and I stripped the striker off. I like it now!
