Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). The keycaps on the MF are not very good. They are basically the same Doubleshot keycaps that you find on the Corsairs. I replaced them with Tai-Hao Hawaii so I could be thinker PBT caps. That helped the feel of the board a lot. The caps on the VA68M are thick, PBT, I did not feel the need to replace them.
If I were in the market for a new board I would definitely jump on this VA68M, though. I love the layout.
I was thinking about getting in on this drop to have a similar board with MX Clears but I decided to just grab a MF68 kit off of aliexpress and build it myself :)
