In love with Cherry MX blues and have a Pok3r coming in July with Clears. Anyone know if reds would be a nice feel for me? :] Tried them out on a tester and still can't say much until I type with them personally. How do Gateron Reds compare? I hear they are even smoother? Heck, after some research I think I want a board with Gatetron clears.

KaliusIt's hard to say. I wasn't a fan of Reds and have switched completely to MX Clears. I thought I could get used to the linear switch but ended up being unsatisfied with the switches after having used them for a couple months. I mostly game on my mechanical but have times where lots of typing must be done and type fairly fast (~80wpm) and found myself sometimes accidentally leaving letters out or pressing keys occasionally. Bottoming out is also a lot easier to accidentally do versus a board without the click or tactile bump.
YMMV though, I would recommend trying them both with and without O-rings if you do decide to get a MX Red board.

NignogPolliwogThanks for the reply!
The whole typing situation shouldn't be a problem....I actually have another board in Blues. Can't have too many keyboards! :]
I will be sure to pick up some Orings to go with my Gatetron Clears board. Hope they last as long as cherry switches do!

KaliusBlues and clears are completely different than reds. They are light and have no tactility. If you're used to blues or clears, you'll bottom out reds on every stroke. They can grow on you if you're willing to change your typing style. Best thing to do is to try one, as nobody can tell you what feels nice for you.
