But obviously, this isn't the case since I and plenty others got Cherry stabilizers with non-standard spacing (not to mention getting VA87MD with a "D" instead of the advertised "R").
To everyone else who got issues with their spacebars, can you reply here with your Transaction IDs? It might help Massdrop in checking this with the vendor as well as provide a sort of warning for future buyers. Thanks!

ViraelI haven't gotten any word back yet on what the deal with stabilizers is, but I can tell you that the R is just for Red since that was the sample we received. If you got D I'm guessing you ordered the Clear, but I have no idea where that nomenclature came from.
It might be the case that the new Gateron boards come with Cherry stabs, but until we hear back please file a Support ticket if this is a problem so we can start figuring out the issue.

I found some examples of Varmilo keyboards from the last drop that have Gaterons with costar stabilizers.

AlexPkAny update on the stabilizer issue? Starting to see a few more Varmilo keyboards from the VB87M drop on Reddit with cherry stabilizers. This is not looking good.

drmntlWe have told Varmilo about the issue with the stabilizers and they said they would fix it on their end. Thanks for all the feed back everyone.

drmntlNot sure about my VA87MR has cherry (I can check later today), but my VB87M does. I perfer cherry stablizers, but the non standard spacebar mountings is annoying!
Edit: My VA87MR also has cherry stablizers (and the non-standard spacebar).

compuguyI wouldn't mind the cherry stabilizers either if they had the standard spacing. I just want to be able to put my DSA Dolch keycap set on this keyboard when I get it. I've seen all the guides to add stems to the space bar and I've heard different sides when it comes to changing cherry stabilizers to costar.
We all spent a lot of money on these VA87M/VB87M keyboards and shouldn't have to deal with that when we were expecting to get costar stabilizers for our 6.25u space bars.

drmntlI agree with you. If the spacebar had normal spacing, I wouldn't be so annoyed. One person on geekhack mentioned that he replaced the cherry stablizers with costar though on these boards.

AlexPkMy order from the most recent drop arrived today. I'm happy to report that the space bar has Cherry stabilizers with apparently standard spacing. I tried two other replacement space bars I had handy and they both fit.

XorianWhen did yours ship? Mine still says "Ready for UPS" since Monday.
Edit: Turns out UPS says that I need to contact the shipper about an issue. I've heard tons of stories about Massdrop not responding to emails so I'm kinda worried about my order.

What was the original delivery date? For me it said that the delivery date would be the 28th. UPS gave me the option to upgrade my shipping to UPS Ground for $3.50 and then I could get it on Monday which is my day off.
However, now it seems like there's some kind of conflict on the UPS tracking page and I've seen no shipping updates since I tried to upgrade the shipping. I emailed Massdrop around noon today and didn't get any reply or some kind of confirmation email. Hopefully by Tuesday I either have my keyboard or an email from Massdrop.

I'm trying to contact Massdrop to find out if they did give my package to UPS or not because UPS said they weren't sure if they had it or not. Not much I can do until Massdrop responds.

AlexPkThis is pretty interesting. I knew it didn't make sense that my keyboard would just be sitting in your offices and that they all should be with UPS by now. I guess I'll just wait for Tuesday and see if it shows up. There's no Origin Scan or anything on my UPS tracking that shows that the keyboard is moving through their system so I'm wondering if my package is lost.

How do you do per-key RGB lighting on a Shift V2?

I saw the online configurator that lets you do this on the Shift V1, where it spits out a compiled firmware file to flash. The V2 doesn't seem to have this function in the Windows configurator, though. I can't imagine the answer here is "you're going to have to manually write the hex for every key in QMK, compile it, and flash that".
