JamaisVuYour comment is the one that exemplifies the purpose of this drop. I haven't seen what's essentially a Leopold keyboard with Bluetooth and cross-platform compatibility for sale at a reasonable price in the U.S., let alone with any usable options. I wouldn't have even thought of finding a deal on this keyboard without MD. Yes, the more mainstream drops are sometimes less competitive. But I can't think of another site that does so much to cater to niche uses and aesthetics.

xbaezIf you're really willing to buy that lone VB87 on Amazon instead of waiting for the one you bought on MD already, then you must (1) be willing to pay $249 instead $129 (assuming you'd actually get that refund), (2) prefer one of the most ridiculous color schemes I've ever seen to white, black and/or gray and (3) trust that the lone seller you've found -- whose product copy is word salad and return policy isn't backed or even verified by Amazon -- will treat you better than the people on Massdrop, who actually make good on things like part failure issues. Good luck trying to get replacement keycaps from HEFUJIAKEJI, let alone a price reduction or accurate delivery date.
Here's the real product page for that VB87M (since only one person is selling the product):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0104F6702/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=
If you do look for the VB87M elsewhere, your best shot is probably Taobao. For purely selfish reasons, I can't imagine choosing that option over MD. This is not like buying a Samsung SSD. Unless someone like MechanicalKeyboards.com carries it, a product like this isn't offered with domestic customer service.
xbaezYeah get that one. It looks hideous. Get that one with the ugly keycaps and non-customizable keys. Oh and the ridiculous price. So at least it'll look like you won your shitty weak argument. Jesus...

xbaezWhat options did you get on your keyboard? If I you want and if massdrop will do it I will send you a paypal for your board and Massdrop will send the board and keys to me. It will make you happy so that you can buy the Amazon board and I will get another keyboard if I like the options you picked.

VarholiaglimpHave you bought at Taobao before?

xbaezYes, I've bought from Taobao and Alibaba. I'm a lot more comfortable ordering inexpensive cases with paid cards than pricier keyboards like this one with my credit cards.
If you go that way, look at reviews of sellers carefully before ordering from Alibaba. Both Taobao and Alibaba have had issues that led to ID theft for certain customers.
One problem with Taobao is that you have to translate the site via Google Translate, Chrome or a similar web translation service. That can be dodgy when specific financial information and addresses are involved.
Google Translate can sometimes miss a lot even with Safe Mode off. You'll have much better luck if you open the link below (a Taobao search for Varmilo) in Chrome and allow the browser to translate:
http://s.taobao.com/search?q=varmilo&commend=all&ssid=s5-e&search_type=mall&sourceId=tb.index&spm=a215z.7106357.5803581.d4908513

VarholiaglimpI frequent Taobao too, due to my girlfriend purchasing numerous things from the site.
I'm not sure on how good the relay is from China to the US (I'm from the SEA region), but I never had problems with shipping nor payment. Some of them actually have really nice customer service too, just that their only contact method is through their very own IM program, Ali Wang Wang.
And as for advice on buying, Varholiaglimp pretty much sums it up. Follow the herd and go for the ones with good reviews and you'll be fine.
