Hey guys. Got my keyboard and I love the way it looks and feels. However, I am having a connection problem. I am running Windows 10 and using the Kinovo bluetooth usb adapter that was recommended in this thread and I was able to pair and connect the keyboard just fine. However, if I turn either my keyboard or computer off and then turn it back on, the keyboard no longer types. If I look in bluetooth settings the keyboard still says it is connected, but I am unable to type with it unless I disconnect the keyboard and re-pair it which is a nuisance to do every time. Any suggestions?

tlbenzturn the keyboard off and on again and it will start to repair automatically to the first device it paired to. sometimes if you turn the keyboard on before windows loads it will have been searching too long and goes into standby mode where it stops looking for bluetooth connection. just hold the insert button 4 seconds to turn off then turn it on again.

AntonyFaragI tried turning it off and on like you suggested and it connects, but it still doesn't not type. So with keyboard off it says "paired" and with it on it says "connected" but when I type nothing happens... Unless I unpair and then re-pair the keyboard
edit: I did just notice that in bluetooth settings when i turn the keyboard off it switches from "connected" to "driver error" for a split second, and then it switches to "paired." So I don't know if there is some underlying problem with that?
tlbenzTry hitting FN+Insert when you startup your computer. That should re-pair your connection when you start up.

YanboWuI'm not having a problem connecting. It's just any time I turn off the keyboard and then turn it back on it stops functioning. This is what happens every time:
1) I do the initial pair, entering the code -- the keyboard says "connected" and everything functions properly. 2) I turn off the keyboard -- it switches from "connected" to "driver error" (for a split second) to "paired" and the keyboard obviously does not function because it is off. 3) I turn the keyboard back on -- it switches from "paired" to "connected" and everything seems fine. I check it in a bunch of different places and the drivers all seem fine, the device is connected and supposedly working correctly, but in actuality it is not as I am unable to type anything. 4)I disconnect the keyboard from my computer so that it is like the two have never been in contact with one another -- it switches from "connected" to "ready to pair". 5) So I go back to step 1, doing the initial pair -- the keyboard says "connected" and everything functions properly.
And it just keeps repeating in this loop.... So I never have a problem connecting, it's just I have a problem getting it to function on any connection after the initial connection.
Edit: Okay, so I tried the same process on my iPad, and when I turned the keyboard off and back on it still worked. So there is obviously a problem with the second connection on the PC that I cannot figure out. Very perplexing :/
Another interesting thing is when I have the keyboard paired to both the iPad and the PC and I have it set to work on the iPad, when I press FN + ➟ it disconnects from my iPad, obviously trying to switch to my PC, but after a couple of seconds it just reconnects to my iPad...
Is it possible that when I disconnect the keyboard from my PC that something is overriding my primary keyboard settings or something? That might be way off though because I was under the impression that you could have multiple keyboards connected and functioning at once... But the fact that I have to do the initial pair again in order for the keyboard to start functioning again makes me think that when I am reconnecting after turning off the keyboard, it is somehow being set to a secondary keyboard and does not function until it is set as a primary which means removing the keyboard and redoing the initial pairing.
Edit: I just found an old bluetooth keyboard I had laying around and tried connecting it and turning it off and on and it works just fine on my PC... Now I am really confused.

AntonyFaragWindows 10 and what do you mean by "standard" exactly? Bluetooth standard? If so I'm not really sure. It's the keyboard from this ZaggFolio iPad case: http://www.amazon.com/Zagg-ZAGGfolio-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Apple/dp/B00FE0U1YG
Edit: I just tried it on my brother's laptop (also running windows 10) with built in bluetooth and it functions properly after turning it off and then back on.

tlbenzk that ipad keyboard is version 2.0 of Bluetooth so it wouldn't tell you if there is a malfunction with the Bluetooth function of your computer at the 4.0 version level. you might need to uninstall the kinovo (broadcom) drivers and reinstall them again.

AntonyFaragWell, I tried it out with my Bluetooth headphones which I know to be 4.0 and they worked fine. Since everything else I tried is working (including the vb87m on other devices) I can only assume that this is just a really unfortunate problem occurring between the kinivo my PC and the keyboard :(

tlbenzwhich is why i say try to re-download the drivers there might be a problem with the HID bluetooth 4.0 interface drivers that headphones won't tell you about.

AntonyFaragI uninstalled the kinivo and checked the box saying to uninstall drivers, and then I reconnected the kinivo and it did its installation stuff. But now, the PC won't recognize any bluetooth devices and no devices recognize it. Do I need to install a driver from somewhere else now? Very aggravating.
