First impressions for me are not nearly as nice as what other people are saying in this discussion, Most songs sound good, but the first couple of tracks I listened to had vocals which lacked some clarity and sounded a little bit on the harsh side on these buds. Definitely add at least one layer of the foam coverings if you can, as it'll dampen some of those harsher tones. As for bass, there's a surprising amount for an earbud if the song really calls for some, but overall the sound is a bit "thin" for what I'm used to. I'll burn in this pair for a bit, then compare to my other unopened Monk+. Comfort-wise, these fit in my ears better than the original apple earbuds, but not by much. My ears definitely don't like earbud-style headphones. I prefer the comfort of in-ears like the Xiaomi Piston 3, but I need to try longer listening sessions with these first to really judge comfort. I'm 3 hours in and so far there haven't been any major red flags for comfort. The build is what you'd expect from an earbud in this price range, but the red finish does look very good. Cable is a bit on the rubbery side.
Tested on a HTC One M9 and a CEntrance DACport Slim. Direct points of reference are the Philips SHP9500, AKG K553, and the Xiaomi Piston 3.
