Is the weight listed (5.3oz for Men's ) per shoe? Or is it 5.3oz for the pair? This has been listed incorrectly in the past; it makes a big difference for ultralight hikers like myself
Had a size larger sent to me, so I contacted customer service (the cs rep was prompt and courteous) via e mail. the only options given were that I could return the shoes for a full refund or keep it with a partial credit back of 15$. An exchange was not possible. I just wanted the shoes I ordered, so I contacted vibram directly. They told me it should be a straight exchange across (the current model was discontinued, but they have the size I wanted) or a I could do an online credit. It might be possible that massdrop had a deal to sell discontinued models with vibram at a not very discounted price, hence the lack of sizes and quantity available.
I‘ll think twice before buying anything size dependent from massdrop again and or go to the actual retailer. Do consumers really save that much $?
My other purchases from massdrop have been fine.
People who have experience with fabrics will tell you that wool does not handle abrasion well compared to other fabrics - especially compared to synthetics like nylon. If you get the wool shoes, high abrasion areas will wear out quickly on the wool uppers. That's a major concern that is keeping me from ordering the wool one.
SteveChanI'm at a tough decision point - most of the Five-Fingers shoes are priced around $100. Is it worth buying a pair of shoes half price that you know will wear out quickly? I might give them a shot
SteveChanI ordered this item and it has lasted longer than the ones I ordered from Amazon, they have improved in the last few years and it's way cheaper ordering it from here, the trick is finding a place where you are that carries Vibrams, makes easier ordering, btw, I love these shoes and lots of compliments
SgtJCJYES, Once again us bigfoots are left out in the cold. Where as most times the option is not there. This time it was. But... Massdrop (or the manufacturer) has cut us out again. Shit does get old. If your like me it's not worth the chance hoping to get something that might (at best) Fit.
I would just like to note, that the shoes fit small. I usually wear a 39 in Vibram 5 Fingers. Knowing they fit small, I ordered a 40, but they were still too small. It may have been an off pair, but I just wanted to let people know.
reen32359Same experience here - especially if you wear socks with these go a size bigger. I'm at the upper end of 41's in all my VFFs (more than I care to reveal) but these were too small. Additional note, this sole compound was intended for winter wear and grip so it is intentionally softer and will wear out faster especially if you go beyond casual wear.
I owned CVT Wool in blue color and CVT Hemp in the same color - for CVT Hemp sole worn off quickly (but I really liked them) for CVT Wool - sole ended up being more robust (although looked the same) but wool worn off between the big finger and another one... It is not design flaw - probably combination of my finger size and material density. But I have 5 other pair of different Five Finger models and never seen this..
