I just got a notice to pick them up, but it told me to pay up for, probably a tax of some sort. 30 bucks CAD, and I am in Canada. I bought other items from Massdrop, I didn't have to pay anything more than what it was shown in transaction before, why is it different this time? Having to pay extra I was not aware of, that I don't even exactly understand why is annoying. And it's not like its few bucks but 30 dollars? That's just stupid. As a person ordering items from Canada, this certainly makes me start thinking about buying another items from Massdrops in the future. My apologies for complains about shipment, not the item itself.

Bread_TempuraSame thing here. COD payment of around $30 CAD.
Pretty dissapointing. Not sure if I missed some fine print saying I'd be charged this on pickup, but it's definitely a tad upsetting.

StefaNoochI had the same lame experience recently in Canada too (BC). I'd previously bought a sleeping mat through Massdrop at a good price - no customs charges. I got a good deal on a UD running vest - no customs charges. I order the Vibram V-Trails and have to pay $27CAD customs charges. What the frickin frack?

Bread_TempuraYou should not be surprised about Duty. Any time you order something from another country you run the risk of having to pay Duty. I no longer ship to Canada. I ship to friends and family then pick up later. This tax has nothing to do with massdropb and everything to do with Canadian government! Where do you think the money comes from for all the free socialist programs.

projectmx"Free socialist programs"? Why make this into some political rant of left vs right? As if the US doesn't have customs duty, or any other country for that matter.

j-techYes our country is not the only one. I wasn't exactly being political just surprised that people complain about paying taxes but want all this stuff. And it even worse when they blame companies like mass drop when it isn't their fault.

j-techThe last straw for me was a pair of vevobarefoot shoes that had a Duty attached that was about 60-70% of the shoe cost. Refused delivery and re-ordered with a friends American address lol

projectmxYeah, I don't blame you for that. That duty seemed pretty arbitrary though.
