Bought two pairs and they arrived safe and sound to me down in oz, adequately packed in one box. After walking around in them for a few days I realised quickly that my feet muscles are weak as piss. I need to acclimatise to ”barefoot” running slowly.
update many months in: i use these EVERY time i go to the gym. besides the annoyance of always having people comment on them (they're bright green btw), they allow for excellent squat form and my 5 minute sprint warmup really helps me focus on how my feet are striking. there's something addictive to having heel/toe touching the ground, it just feels "right" after a while and strapping on my regular shoes i feel like i'm in peasant mode.
I have a pretty old pair of sprints I’m looking to replace that fit quite well barefoot. I think they’re 42’s if that’s what the sole number means. I typically wear a men’s 10 in all shoe brands. The chart seems to indicate I should get 43’s instead of 42’s. Anyone know if the sizes have changed? Or if they’re just optimized for sock wearing now?
xilvarxilvar, I would order 42's. Remember that Virbrams are designed to "fit like a glove". Subsequently, there should be little to no spacing between your longest toe and the end of the corresponding toe box. Additionally, the european #'s are about a 1/2 cm between sizes and I've never seen a sock (at least useful with the Vibrams) that will take up a full 5mm of space - maybe 1 or 2, but not 5+.
That being said, I usually wear a size 10 US and have 6 vibrams which are all 42's. I have a Spyridon MR's, Vtrail, Bikila LS, Trek Ascent, CVT wools, and Trek Ascent insulated (they only one I would suggest a size bigger in). I wear them not only running, but around town and even to work. I find them more comfortable in general and in particular they helped with shin splint problems I used to have.
I hope this helps.
xilvarI wear size 43 (aka US M10) in shoes and also in Five Fingers. I always wear midweight (not thin) Injinji socks with my Five Fingers. Without socks, maybe I would be a 42.

i see they included all relevant sizes because obviously mens feet get no bigger than 12.5 in the US. ....................
