I'm very reticent about ordering watches from MD without a warranty. I've purchased a couple of other minor items that turned out well, but no watches. Many of MD's watch "drops" aren't particularly good values, with or without a warranty, but I could not resist the Mach 4, even with no warranty.
This is an old school, manual wind, large, heavy, substantial watch with a very robust Unitas 6497 movement, which alone is worth about as much as the whole watch. So while I still don't understand MD's unwillingness to offer warranties on all their watches...I made an exception in this case and ordered a Mach 4. I could not find anyone else selling a new one for anywhere near this price, even though all the other professional vendors offered warranties. This Unitas movement rarely goes wrong, and any decent watchmaker can work on it easily and relatively inexpensively. As long as you have a wrist size of at least 7 inches, in my opinion this watch will look great on your wrist.
And be aware it's manual wind.

cgalnyAlways lots of input about lack of warranty. It occured to me that perhaps the watch manufacturer (as opposed to MD) may be the reason for not supplying a warranty on this and other 'good value' watches. Maybe the manufacturers don't want to see a proliferation of their products being onsold for profit on auction sites. The safeguard for MD buyers is in place with their own warranty for faulty items. Just a thought!

CabriobeeetleMD supplies no warranty on this, and many, if not most, watches. Instead, they offer a 30-day return policy, which is basically a 30-day warranty of sorts. But it's not adequate.
What worries me is that these non-warranty watches may be second quality, or even returns, that are being sold by their manufacturers to MD, with new boxes, etc.
Also, the one month delay in shipping really is a pain in the neck. This delay makes me wonder even more if these are first-quality, brand new watches.
But I decided to take the risk this time. Only because of the very good price, and my fondness for 6497 movements and also for Victorinox. I will be checking the watch very carefully when it arrives, and for 30 days, to make sure it's perfect...something I would not need to do so soon with a legitimate warranty.

cgalnyThe caliber is 6498-2 TOP grade. It has 56 hours of reserve and Glucydur wheel. This is the reason why this watch is a real bargain.
