I posted a couple of questions earlier regarding this watch, which I purchased, received, and like very much. However, Massdrop has not publically answered two very important questions, which frankly is unprofessional.
According to Victorinox, all of the Airboss Mach 4 watches they manufacture leave their facility with the instruction booklet, and clear plastic covers on both sides of the dial. My watch did not include an instruction book, and did not include the clear plastic cover on the back.
I would like Massdrop to tell us why.
Also, are these watches new, first quality, or are they seconds, B-quality, or anything other than brand new?
And finally, why does Massdrop not offer a warranty (beyond their 30 day period) of some type, on all of their watches?

cgalnyI reached out to massdrop c/s to ask these questions as well and basically got the brushoff and was basically told the vendor decided not to include the missing items and our return policy is.... so we are basically stuck with it. i replied back today saying the drop should have had this info and it didn't. Is this normal for watches on here? Do watches sold on here usually have everything it should?

neil1115It's normal for some brand's MD sells to have no warranty; for others they offer the manufacturer's warranty. However, I would not feel confident with that because MD does not seem to be an authorized dealer of any watch brand...which most manufacturer's require for their warranty. MD does not always include everything normally expected with new watchesAt least that has been my experience with Victorinox watches which according to V. always leave their facility with the manual. Be careful on MD: check prices before buying. They are often enough not that competitive and often have no warranty.

cgalnyUnless specified in the technical specifications of a drop, watches sold by MassDrop are "gray market". MD strikes deals with either authorized dealers or reputable vendors that, probably, have excess stock they want to sell. And while the watches come from authorized dealers/reputable vendors, they don't include stamped (valid) warranty cards because they were not bought by the customer from an authorized dealer.
MassDrop repeatedly refuses to say where they get the watches and how long they have been sitting unused, so we assume most watches, unless otherwise specified, are NOS, or "New Old Stock", meaning new watches that have never been sold and worn. In the case of Victorinox, all the watches I've seen offered here are discontinued models, but still NOS. And every single Victorinox watch that's passed through MassDrop has never included the manufacturers' warranty.
With that said, some brands are offered here with stamped/valid warranty cards, like all Glycine models and some of the Breitling watches that have dropped in the last couple of months. But offering a manufacturer warranty, generally speaking, is the exception and not the rule.

JakeRobertsRegardless of the where MD gets their Victorinox watches, according to V., ALL of their watches leave their facility with operating manuals, and in at least the case if the Mach 4, with plastic cling protectors on front and back. I assumed that the V. watches offered here are new old stock, but all of this does not explain why no operating manual is included...assuming the watches are brand new.
There is no reason MD's sources should remove the operating manual and plastic clings, and sell them to MD as new.

cgalnyI got my Mach 4 today and it did include the protective film on the dial crystal, but not on the exhibition caseback. Also, no printed manual, just a plain paper stub, printed in black and white, with a "go green" message and two URLs... but, suspiciously, the second URL was cut off with scissors, meaning that second URL probably identified the vendor where MassDrop got the watches. It's not unheard of that some gray-market vendors remove manuals to make the shipment as light as possible. Duty Free Island even sends watches in generic pouches and charge an extra fee if the customer wants the original box. The Victorinox Alpnach I bought here did come with the manual.
