The size and thickness of the watch communicate ruggedness, the sort of image that you want when you are timing sporting events, the principal function of a chronograph. I got mine the day before yesterday, and was shocked to discover that the watch was defective. I contact Massdrop, described the defect to them, and they immediately responded, offering me the option of a refund or exchange. Now that's ethical and honest dealing, and I think Massdrop is deserving of high praise for the way they handled this. On the other hand, I was shocked that a watch with such an obvious operating defect slipped past QC at Victorinox. Incidentally, I was so dismayed and disappointed, that I opted for the refund. Even with another watch, which Massdrop was certainly willing to do, everytime I'd look at it I'd remember what happened. I need the buffer of a bit of time and then I'll try again, perhaps even the same watch if Massdrop offers it.

Are there really people who wear watches 1/2-inch thick?

JOSEPHRGRECOyou don't know. it is a watch on a bracelet. they rarely fit out of the box. that said it takes 5 minutes to remove however many links you need and adjust the bracelet if you have the tools ready.

Blair_BlackI have purchased from many companies who sell upscale watches, and sometimes they are too small for my wrist out of the box, and you cannot get links to make them long enough.THAT IS MY POINT!!

I understand that it IS a discounted model. So..... I don't quite get how MassDrop thinks this is a great value...??! Amazon has them for $199.99 or less. I know I can find one for$20 bucks cheaper. I've bought a lot of stuff here... but not this time..... Where's the beef?

I have stick arms. My wrist is around 160mm. Will this watch be too big for me? Do we get free shipping or not? Do you ship to India?

I have two Swiss Army watches right now for a number of years: the Maverick (On the left in the photo below.) and the Original Cavalry. Both are well made , can take punishment while keeping great time. These two are smaller than 45mm and very comfy.

The email link says free shipping, but to where? And who is the carrier (to Canada)? What about duty and taxes? Are they deducted prior to shipping and included in the total price?

$795 MSRP for a glass crystal? Massdrop is just another marketing gimmick. This is a forty dollar watch.

I agree. All watch manufacturers charge a premium for watches made of titanium. This is especially true if the watch and it's bracelet are titanium.

I have 2 Victorinox pieces, one quartz, one automatic, and have been happy with both. That said, posting a $795 MSRP for a quartz watch is a joke, I don't care who the manufacturer is. For whatever reason (Swiss made?) their quartz timepieces are really pricey in my opinion (the one I have was a gift); like earlier posts from others, I am looking for automatic watches in this forum.

watchkooki don't looks at retail prices and discounts anymore. does anyone? the sale price + tax/shipping is all that matters. IMO a full titanium case & bracelet swiss quartz chrono from a reputable manufacturer for under $200 is a good deal.

jakenewmanyeah i have no idea why people ever look at MSRP or "original" prices. it's all a load of shit. i have friends that somehow still think those numbers are real. mind-boggling.
