The Maverick II by Victorinox stands out for its GMT function, which allows the wearer to set the watch to more than one time zone. The large subdial is marked with Arabic numerals 1 through 12 on the outer chapter ring, and Arabic numerals 13 through 24 on the inner chapter ring Read More
Buyer beware.
I bought the other model of the Maverick II a few months ago from a dealer. After wearing it for less than a day I realized the hour hand was not moving because it had fallen off. One of the end links was also poorly machined. It was slightly too thick on one of the sides and wouldn't allow for the springbar to stay fully engaged (not a springbar issue as I tried replacing it before carefully inspecting the end link).
Overall, I'm still a fan of Victorinox but would definitely not purchase either of the Maverick II models. Just thought I'd share my experience.
kin670LOL! However I did get the Victorinox with the ETA Valgranges Auto Chrono movement for $300! I know it's not a GMT, but that should be doable for Victorinox at a decent price point for an auto GMT.
Hello everyone.
Did all of you get your watches already? My one arrived couple of days ago.
And the problems started ... The watch wasnt working, which I found strange for a quarz, but I still went and changed the battery thinking that this is the problem. The watch started running, however it lost 15 minutes for 2 hours. The I noticed that it is actually stopping and it goes back again because of the movement of my hand (I guess). When I left it on the desk, it stopped completely and didnt want to go anymore. It is now with a repair shop, looking for around ~ $100 repair considering I bought a battery as well. They said the movement isn't working, but they can say more only once they examine. Warranty card is not accepted - no stamp, no date, nothing is filled there whatsoever.
My friend bought the same one too, it just arrived yesterday (why didnt they arrive together, if the same massdrop and same delivery, same country/city??). The hour/minute hand adjustment wasnt working properly and after around 10 second of trying his crown fell off.
2 out of 2 garbage pieces. Both of them are the black dial.
Are we the only 2 drawing the short stick here, or is the whole batch of watches with the same "quality"?
Just figured out how adjust the GMT hand. On the crown pusher, pull out on the first click (same setting when to adjust the date), and rotate it the opposite direction and this will move the 2nd time zone hand rather than it adjusting the date.
I'm kind of a neat freak these days. Somehow, though, this watch with six different fonts, really got to me.
There is a depth on the face. Very nice, excellent value.
