What Cree LED emitter is it using that can do 2000 lumens at 30W?

LDWoodworthI'm a little confused too, but for different reasons: 2000lm from 30w is only 67 lm/watt, pretty crappy for a modern LED. Cree XHP50 LEDs are 19 watts max and ~2500 lumens, while the XHP70 is 32 watts and ~4000 lumens. I think someone got the two mixed up somewhere along the line. Either way, it's either going to be less than 30 watts, or more than 2000 lumens.

MysticalDorkYeah that's my line of thought too. An XM-L2 or the like single die emitter wouldn't get handy to 30W and the multi-die XHP line should all be higher. Either they're using some other emitter like an OSRAM or other chinese type maybe or the numbers are wrong.

LDWoodworthIm thinking about buying it and exchanging the LED for an XHP70... Good Idea?

LDWoodworthJust looking at the pictures, it certainly looks like an XHP LED, but with no easy scale, it's difficult to tell which size it is. @fischele If you don't change the driver to give more current as well, all that will do is reduce the throw distance of the beam slightly, because the XHP70 has a larger emitting surface. Not to mention the added heat load.

MysticalDork@fischele Yeah I agree, there's not enough info to tell what emitter there is in there. I've googled around and found it on Home Depot. The SDS says it's a Lithium-ion Battery 18650-6600mAh/3.7V so that's interesting.
