Product Description
Barcelona-based Viscata does one thing, and one thing only: espadrilles. The company name is a combination of the Catalan word visca, meaning “life,” and Catalonia, the Mediterranean birthplace of espadrilles Read More

Just got mine - some sizing notes for those interested, because there seems to be a lot of contradiction. I am a solid US 10.5D on the Brannock. I ordered a size 44, because I ordered a 44 in the Viscata Medes and they fit nicely. These seem to run very wide, because they fit well in the length but are pretty loose through the instep and heel. Really, they fit nothing like my Medes in size 44. I may try to exchange them for a 43 because the fit is just not right for a slip-on, but I'm pretty concerned they will be too short.

Wow, marked down from $90 to $50--good savings? Take a fifty dollar bill and soak it in water for 30 minutes or so. Now take that bill and rub it against a cheese-grader a dozen times. Now look at you fifty bucks--that's what these shoes are going to look like in two or three months. So, how much did you save?

Does anyone have any comparisons of this brand in general with the likes of ropey soles or soludos. I wish I could get Castaners in the USA but shipping from Spain is too damn high lol

Any clarification on sizing? Seems that the listing and the comments contradict each other.

JawrySome cross-referencing tools would be helpful.
Like, I wear a 10.5 US in Steve Madden and Stacy Adams, and 11.5 in Hush Puppies. Maybe a chart with popular brands and their size relationship?

Mine were delivered two days ago. I usually take a UK9.5 (this size works for me in Edward Green, Crockett & Jones and Carmina). Based on all the comments that the Viscatas "run big", I opted for size 43. They are tiny. Way too short. I will now have to find a local buyer and I will undoubtedly lose money.
So annoying, because a day or two after my Massdrop order was confirmed, I discovered that SuitSupply in Sydney stock an almost identical espadrille at the same price (i.e. Massdrop price plus shipping).
Oh well. The perils of buying footwear online...

tony.pSorry to hear that. I'd suggest you give them a try around the house, because they will stretch out and open up. That's the whole thing about espadrilles. The idea is to wear them tight (almost uncomfortably so) the first few times, until the canvas opens up and molds to your feet - after that they'll stay on your feet and be a much better fit. Again, it's hard to assess the situation without being physically present there, but I'd say give them a try around the house before making a final call.

Have a pair of their lace up Espadrilles in a 13 but a tad small (I still wear the heck out of them). Would be amazing to be able to get a size 14!

I am a true size 10D Brannock, and went with a size 10 US / EU 43 shoe. Here is the support email I got back from Viscata for this model shoe.

I see the listing still claims that these run small. All the comments below disagree. Can someone confirm or refute?
