I bought one of the lava rock versions of these some 5 years ago. It is still amongst my favourite pens. Its expensive, but its one of those pens that will bring you a lot of joy. The nib is very flexible compared to eg, Pelikan M800, M600 etc, but not flexible like the old school flexible pens. I have small hands, but do not find is overly big. Anyway, that is my 2 cents worth.

it-manIt's really heavy though. It was my grail pen and I owned it for some time, but I couldn't get over how heavy it was to carry around.
To end on a positive note, you're other assessments are spot on.

crabbyappleI see your point. With the cap on, it would be way too heavy. I always ied it without cap and to be fair never for long writing sessions. Nothing has beat the pilot custom pens for performance and price for me, but do t see them on MD.
