I don't own a Homo Sapiens pen, and would be interested if a broad nib was offered, and the pen was in a different color. After checking pen sites it appears this was a special production run, and the Massdrop price is a good one. However, this is not sufficiently attractive to me, and I am not buying pens these days. Too bad. Massdrop--I would like a Caran d'Ache Lemans, broad nib, special blue color--I ordered one in the last drop but my order was cancelled.

dholik8503I do not get the Caran d'Ache Lemans. I think we all simply have different tastes. For example, I am dying to get my hands on a Pelikan Souverän M800 Grand Place, and MassDrop offered the Renaissance, but not the Grand Place I wanted. I think they still sold them all, but it sucks that they did not have mine.

SkipPpI agree about different tastes. The first Caran d'Ache Lemans pen I bought was from Massdrop, and I bought it because of an enthusiastic review. I felt I was spending an awful lot of money for the pen, but I was not disappointed. It's one of the cases where a Massdrop discussion has informed my tastes, and that's a wonderful part of the communities, except when people fight. The Lemans is a heavy pen, will work either posted or not posted, and the nibs are well done--they are capable of creating a broad line, and are taut, yet flexible. With a nice choice of ink, the pen is glorious. In comparison to Pelikan nibs, I think the Pelikan 800 would be closest, and the Pelikan nib is somewhat softer. I enjoy both Pelikan and Caran d'Ache, so many great pens, so little time. 😀
