Do you have to have a specific type of monitor to attach to these mounts? How does that work?

misterB124Most monitors have 4 screw holes in the back of them. This is normally the same for every 24" monitor so that they can be used with any kind of supporting stand, though, some monitors don't have mounting holes alltogether. As long as you have those screw holes in the back, then your monitor will mount to this. (This mount supports monitors only up to 24" so be sure that if it's any bigger, to find a different mount that will support your monitor.)

misterB124It supports VESA mount, which is 4 screw holes set apart in VESA configuration (you can look this up). If you have a monitor that has these, you should be OK. Even if the part where the mounting brackets attach to the monitor isn't flat, they still send with this kit standoffs that are for that purpose.
