What would be a good portable Dac/Amp to use with my HD6xx and Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone?
I am new to this hobby. I purchased a HD6XX and plan to use it with my Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone, that has a 3.5mm jack. I was wondering if I needed a portable dac/amp or just a portable amp and if so what would one recommend? Any assistance one could provide, would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Haz

@BryceLombard & ryoonc, i think you are really over-reacting about the product being fakes. the previous massdrop for these M100, they even came in Casio Boxes, so it's highly unlikely this drop contain fakes if they came sealed in the original packaging. the real worry is whether these items are legible for V-Moda's premier warranty & immortal life program.
of course, v-moda regulates their list of authorized resellers & their warranty terms for the specific purpose of keeping price control & preventing heavy discounts on their products that would destabilize the perceived value of their products. so you could think of it in terms of the massdrop extra $70 off v-moda's list price is for that dropping extra warranty year/immortal life program/custom shields.
Note: head-fi is not very friendly towards massdrop and other group buy sites. head-fi has a semi-enforced blacklist/censorship against massdrop to keep in good standing with their sponsors.
Furthermore, the entire point of purchasing something via a group buy isn't to sacrifice features, warranty and authenticity for a lower price, but to negotiate a lower price by purchasing in quantity. The fact that we would be purchasing an inferior product and receiving a discount goes against the very heart of how this site operates. Don't believe me? Look at the first paragraph of Massdrop's FAQ entitled "How it Works".
More importantly, if we are shipped a product with it's manufacturer's warranty voided, we have NO WARRANTY. Despite the assurances made that Massdrop will take care of things within the first year, this is not a warranty. This is even counter to what's listed clearly in their Terms of Service under Disclaimers of Warranty:
"NO ORAL OR WRITTEN INFORMATION OR ADVICE GIVEN BY A MASSDROP.COM REPRESENTATIVE SHALL CREATE A WARRANTY."
Feel free to see for yourself at https://www.massdrop.com/terms-of-service
I'm not overly concerned because I take meticulous care with my electronics, and v-moda has done some serious stress testing on these things, but you never know...
If you were selling fake headphones, making fake packaging is very logical while replacing real headphones w/ fake headphones doesn't make any sense.
I would be more worried about fakes if the item came in a different packaging or if the packaging itself looks to be fake. (luckily v-moda actually has an easter egg to verify real packaging).
