I received mine yesterday and I wanted to express how disappointed I am. The price point for this item is absolutely absurd. I'm always happy to pay a premium for quality craftsmanship, but this thing feels like it was meant to take advantage of people like me. To be clear, I paid 200 dollars for a dollar or so worth of brass rod, a custom stainless steel Chicago screw, and a ceramic bearing. That is literally all we're talking about here. So what's wrong with it?
1. Machining marks. Really? The center slot that is cut out has uneven machining marks on both sides. When I remove the bearing, the edges around the bearing hole are chewed up. I paid 200 dollars for a few grams of brass. I expected the finish to be flawless. 2. The bearing is LOUD out of the box. I have a 3d printed spinner that uses a ceramic skateboard bearing and multiple high end yo-yos. None of them make this much noise, and all of them spin more or less the same. 3. The fit is wobbly. I think this is partly the bearing, and partly the fact that the finger pads don't close around the bearing tightly (they move up and down about a half a millimeter). The result? Spins feel terrible. Any tilt on the axis at all creates an unpleasant wobble and sound. Significantly worse than the 30 dollar 3d printed spinner. Conclusion: This is the most expensive and worst feeling spinning device I own. The fit and finish feels like it came from a cheap over seas mass production run, not a super premium hand made process. Commodity aside, this product feels like it should cost 50$ at most.

throwaway123damn, thats really disappointing to hear. I'd bet he rushed through the batch in order to get them out asap, since he was already 3 weeks behind. Bummer.
That being said, I'd gladly buy this off of you at a discount rate if you wanted to get rid of it.

throwaway123Hey Throwaway, Sorry to hear this. The machine marks on the side is part of the design, I guess it's a personal preference?
The bearing is loud, that's just the nature of these bearings, some are noisy, some are not. Generally the noise will diminish over time as the bearing breaks in.
The fit isn't wobbly, or at least it shouldn't be, the wobble you can feel is probably the tolerance of the bearing, this is the radial play that is "looser" to allow a better spin time. In terms of the finger pads not fitting, please could you get in contact with me and send an image of this? I have not yet seen any that do not fit as they should.
Thanks and I hope that helps, if you need any further assistance, please feel free to get in touch. Cheers, Will
