I'd love to know what's up with the 2 different cutouts in the case for usb ports. I guess that means you can use different PCB's in this case, which is really cool if that's the case (pun unintended). There's also this one for a couple bucks less but you get a completely different case but it does come with some cool case feet. lol =) Also, the one I'm linking IS programmable. As others have noted, we keyboard aficionados would love pics of the different case colors please. Also, it seems that there are no switch LED's but I did notice that it (the PCB) does seem to have SMD LED solder pads, which really won't provide much light considering this an aluminum enclosed case with no way for light to spill out of it unless you use Zealios switches which have translucent tops and bottoms. After more careful examination of the pic of the PCB, I can definitely conclude that the SMD LED pads are on the bottom side of the PCB, meaning that this PCB was more meant to be used with an acrylic case that would allow shine thru from the SMD LED's. A definite bummer for anyone that enjoys adding a little light to their keyboard projects. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Digital-mechanical-keyboard-carbon-fiber-shell-digital-pad-kit-digital-key-mechanical-keyboard-shaft/32678512194.html?spm=2114.10010108.1000014.5.kNpsTK&scm=1007.13338.33346.0&pvid=56122a50-80c7-4ac4-bd1d-69af34d4ea42&tpp=1

Neblin7You do get a grand total of nine Cherry RGB switches that have translucent bottoms and tops, but based on group buy and preorder prices, Zealios might be the best option for full RGB. I'm not sure how well the Gateron Milk switches allow light to pass through. Unless it's a completely different PCB in use, Vortex has been showing examples in action. https://www.instagram.com/p/BJR_Y5XAHRG/?taken-by=vortexgear https://www.instagram.com/p/BF8ymdVQNCP/?taken-by=vortexgear

BenjamonkeyIt won't matter how much light is allowed to pass through. The SMD LED's solder pads are on the bottom of PCB. Meaning that they will be shining light toward the bottom half of the aluminum housing. Literally zero light will be allowed to pass through.

BenjamonkeyIt calls it the "Core number pad", so it must be a companion for the Vortex Core 40% keyboard: https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/544y3g/vortex_core_new_40_keyboard/ It also has DSA keycaps.
So we are getting an unassembled or prototype version, maybe.

Neblin7no, there is a hole, they would shine up through the board into the switch... I mean, if you had the right LED, with solder pads on the same side as the light

Neblin7You sure about that? Their instagram shows some pics of the PCB and some "finished" pics... they look pretty well lit-up

Neblin7The kind of LED needed has gull wing leads that will likely need to be flattened out. The question becomes: Do we need gull wing or reverse gull wing (meant to shine through a board hole) to get the right pinout?

iamak9That does look good. However you'd have to use all completely clear switches to get that effect for the light to travel up through switches. Would probably look weird if half of them clear (like Zealios switches) and the other half black. The RGB effect in that little GIF does look good though.

Neblin7Shit. I found clear tops for mx switches, didn't think about the bottom being black. Not sure if I can find fully transparent bodies....

I was eying this one:

Just a few dollars more than the PCB. Still hoping Ducky / Vortex will sell them for a lot less. EDIT: This LED is a 3228 package. The correct one might be a 5050(?)

MagicSmokeBoom! There we go, that's looking more like it. I dug through Mouser for a bit, couldn't find anything.
I still plan on opening the Pok3r, see if I can find a part # printed on the LEDs.
I also would like to know about the plate color, glad you asked. Vortex seems to be hit or miss with responses... sometimes they answer instantly on FB, sometimes they leave people hanging for weeks. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
