schoolbusguess i'm a newbie when it comes to Artisan keycaps...what's normal ??
i just saw someone on mechmarket sell a keycap for $100 that's nuts.
so you figure $30 in total is ok for one keycap??
TuxKeyI mean $30 is still a lot for a key cap, but by artisan standards comparable caps to this usually go for $75+
I personally don't even really care for artisans but I'm leaning towards getting this because it's cheaper and looks pretty cool.
Don't get me wrong, Artisan's are definitely overpriced in general but this one could probably go for a lot more and still get a lot of people buying. It's "art" though, so value is subjective.
TuxKeyThe hand made one from Jelly goes about $70-100+ a piece easily, and the hand painted ones sometimes go up to $250 depending on how detail the painting work gets (base starts $70 I think).
A lot of things are costly because of time and labor and mostly design. If you spend 3 days to make 1 keycap, how much would you wish your hourly salary to be?
LilithcakeTo be honest if I'm to spend 3days of my life to make something I would not sell it but trade it or give it to someone that I think deserves it. So on that point ;-)
TuxKeyAfter 3 days you haven't made something worth selling then. Real sweet of you but this is capitalism dude not a bake sale where you can buy cookies with hugs.
