WoodLab KevinWTF is this? No offense, but after waiting almost two months since original ship date, a little more information than "Arrived at New York!" seems to be in order. I am still antsy to get my paws on the new keycap but the excitement has dwindled to a, when I get, okay, Maybe even closer to disappointment. A little communication as to what is going on would be nice at this point.

Wikkihe mean that the package of caps from China arrived at NY and soon will reach MD warehouse. After quality check, MD will ship them out to us

FliaelAssurance that it'll arrive by a specific date? Where was this assurance made? All I see is an estimated ship date on the product page. This is a made to order product purchased through massdrop. The reality is you should expect lengthy delays on these types of drops.

why_are_you_buying_this_keysetMaybe you do not value your dollar. Let's say you have a ping pong ball stuck in your throat. You are at the hospital. You need the ping pong ball out of your air way immediately. A guy comes in right behind you. He presents a premium insurance and is immediately greeted with three doctors and an array of assistants to help him get a splinter out of his thumb. You are left choking and as you start to succumb to your untimely but highly preventable death, they simply walk away.
I mean come on. Do you value your dollar? Like even a little? I know it seems like I am being a bit impatient, but that was my money and now that I have had to wait anywhere from month to two months now depending on the keycap. I believe I have the right to ask for more detailed information. I want to know what is going on. I have that right to ask what is going on. I am not complaining but I also have that right if I want. I've also cancelled orders because other orders have been delayed. I have not been obnoxious, but rather asking on timely occasions when updates have been sparse or non existent.
If you think I am complaining, then this may not be the forum you need to be browsing in.

RashkhIt not the assurance that it will arrive by a certain date, but the fact that we are curious where it is. No tracking numbers provided. I have had items from mass drop arrive and never get a tracking number until after it arrived. Asking for information is acceptable and those saying I am demanding or asking too much are the ones who haven't bought in to the drop or had countless other drops delayed on them. It gets old when there are no updates when the estimated ship date has passed 6+ weeks ago.

WikkiThe person I replied to said that they received an assurance that the product would ship by a certain date. I said that they didn't which is true. I made no mention of status updates.
As for asking for information, you've already received it. The caps hit NY harbor five days ago and will be en route to the NJ warehouse once they're past customs. I'll agree that they should have mentioned the delay earlier and given an updated estimate but the information given in the past few weeks has been satisfactory.
More importantly, this is massdrop we're talking about. The reality is that these types of drops are delayed significantly and often. That's the reality of things and something you have to take into account when joining. I knew the second I saw these caps that massdrop would miss the shipping date by a minimum of a month.
At the end of the day, this is a pretty piece of plastic that you stick on your keyboard. The way some people flip out about delays you'd think massdrop is shipping vital supplies.

People in the keyboard community literally treat Massdrop like shit at any opportunity. They've had their problems no doubt, but they never "scam" anyone. Their problems have never been as bad as half the community ran GB's which most of the newer uneducated people who complain all the time don't understand.
Your point about people treating keyboard keycaps like essential supplies is perfect. I think the reality is that most of the people in this community are probably younger spoiled teenagers so it's not hard to see why they get so defensive and upset when their pretty plastic isn't on their doorstep immediately.

schoolbusI don't even look at delivery dates anymore. And it's not because my keyboard is almost entirely covered in artisans. It's just what the fuck does it matter? It's not like I need it for my next camping trip.
I understand some people move and order with the expectation it arrives before said move. But there's ways to assure you'll get it after your move. And seriously how many people move regularly, specifically on MassDrop, .005%?
So let's not talk about delays anymore. You're not saving lives and neither is this cap.

Wikki1995 grad. :D I see the difference in generations after me. Sad world. Work ethic, life choices, to hell with it, almost everything is not the same. I have a box that everyone has to drop their phone into before shift. That's how bad it is. :(

BrainFlushIt really is mind boggling. I am having to hire 60 and 70 yr old's because the youth literally can't perform as fast as them and it is a physical job that is 90% walking.

schoolbusI have not treated them like shit. I have and continue to shop and give my hard earned dollars to them. It is only right that massdrop be held to the same standards of operation as any other company would be. Once you pay they need to keep you informed. Dropping an update every 30 days past original estimated shipping date is not acceptable. If I want to talk bad about massdrop I will do it with my wallet and not my typing skills, as I imagine most people will when they finally get fed up enough..

I hear you. But making them waste resources aka an employees time to post a response 90% of us will ignore and doesn't get us the cap any faster is useless. It's a keycap. Want your money back? Submit a ticket.
As for people being fedup with MassDrop. Oh well. Good luck getting crossovers or one offs somewhere else for the original price. Since we know the grey-market likes to get a markup typically.
Don't get offended. Just don't be another of them guys. Copy clone paste. So boring and basic.

WikkiIt's ok man . I'm like Schoolbus. I get what you're saying. I just spend money here and forget what I order. And when it shows up I'm happy. It's great when we get delay updates and I appreciate them but it doesn't change anything and I prefer them to spend time on other more important things. Heck. We get emails about delays. I think that's enough.
In reply to your hiring of older people. It's true. They outperform 2 to 4 people combined, born after 1990. But I still try to motivate and teach them skillsets they can use for life. We shall see. So far it's not looking good.
