Was thinking about these because FatShark/Immersion RC are a bunch of black hat troll dirtbags to harass their own users openly on YouTube/social media. And as much as I hate myself for using their garbage these Walkera are a worse units.
I am part of a drone engineering org and we dig deep into the electronics, manufacturing, company ethics, and other key data points and have found Walkera to be sub-par on all fronts.
If you are looking for something "serious" right now we are stuck w/FatShark for racing and freestyle flight, as bad as they may be.
One vector of analysis is the various modules in the market. FS uses a simple 5pin (if I remember the count) for RX connectivity. So items like the LaForge and other mods are being produced. This area of advancement is key for the true racing and freestyle scene. This is the only thing FS did right -- they made the item a vessel.
Walkera, on the other had, sees an opportunity to take some sales selling low quality, not too well thought out engineering. I am sure there are some fanbois out there, and I am not talking to that person. I am talking to someone who is looking to go far, have solid gear, and understands that putting a 600gram flying blender in the air that does 100mph is a very serious endeavor. For that type of real pilot, I would advise against any of these units. Same for SkyZone.

ukd555Thank you, this kind of commentary is what I come to the comments for. Is the Walkera laggy, low resolution, something else? You mention the 5 pin rx connector, are Walkera using something else (proprietary) in this unit?
