Not a drone fanatic here, but I am certainly intrigued. The only question I have is about the FPV headset. Isn't a 500 dollar price tag a bit.... up there? I can buy a HTC Vive for 600, and probably find some way to see the drone. And it is 1440p...

frankastormerYes, it's a lot of money for a headset. You can get a good FatShark headset for $350.

krugerliveFatshark is the only thing out there right now. The other manufacturers all have issues. I have 2 Fatshark sets and they are garbage and the company is really hard to deal with on all levels. I am modding my goggles to fix all the mistakes in the build, so bad. As for price - they are ripping you off, no other way to put it. Also, FPV goggles and VR sets ARE NOT COMPARABLE! Goggles are, and will be for quite some time, analog signal. When you get deeper into the hobby you realize that digital is probably never coming to "real racing" and freestyle flying. @frankastormer the 1140p is not part of the equation. All the signal is analog, camera too. You need to look at the TVL aka TV Lines (usually 400-700) in the camera. 600 TVL is common. There are some other camera details that are important, will not detail them here. Digital is NOT part of the equation so XYZp means nothing. You can put some of the feeds into VR goggles, but they pretty much suck. Head tracking is of no use, especially for racing/freestyle and will make you crash. Despite the poor build quality of the goggles and tech, the products are the best possible iteration we have right now if you want to get serious.

ukd555Have you seen the Connex Prosight? It's digital and if you can find a good headset to stream the 720p via HDMI, then it might be the digital future that FPV racing is looking for. Zero latency, but costly. I am not buying into the race quads until I can get at least 720p which you can effectively do now.
