planb10113 For $25 more, you can order one in DreamTex on WarBonnet's site. But it's not an "option" at this MassDrop price. As OneHungGlow stated, this sale is to clear out the old fabric to make way for dream-tex in these colors. It's a great deal if you prefer the firmer 1.7 without as much stretch, or if you want a lightweight double with the 20d internal layer (2nd layer IS an option) I'm sure they are latest design as it appears these will be made after this drop is complete.
For the extra 25$ you get a warranty and a return period if you buy from Warbonnet. This drop says all sales are final. I doubt very seriously if you get any warranty.
I’m passing on the drop because I’m pretty full up on hammocks, but this is a pretty awesome deal. I have an original blackbird and it’s a comfy sleep.
Per Warbonnet site: The Warbonnet Eldorado is the Blackbird XLC’s skinnier more frugal cousin. Like the XLC it has a footbox for maximum leg room but it omits the XLC’s famous storage shelf in favor of saving weight and money. It incorporates a unique stuffsac that clips directly to the hammock’s ridgeline to work as a ridgeline storage pocket. Compared to the comparable Blackbird XLC the Eldorado is 2-3 oz lighter depending on model and fits users up to 6’6″ (same as the XLC)
Agree on your points but I will also add it makes it difficult for mosquitoes to bite through the bottom layers. I'm not heavy nor do I use a pad but I always go double layer. Own two Warbonnet hammocks. If I need to get UL I have Hummingbird hammocks for that.
ShilohTDBest way to make this into a "2person hammock" would be to buy 2 of them with the optional fishhooks and use 2 spreader bars to the fishhooks to hang the hammocks side-by-side from the same trees. With short spreader bars, you would be close enough to touch yet in separate hammocks for actual comfort.
