The barebones at least doesn't seem to be much of a deal at all....

vsyncin what way? wasd keycaps are notoriously terrible so the barebones is a really solid board for $95 and it saves you time and money to get decent caps yourself.

UpahUpahIt's not that it's not nice to save a few bucks, just usually the deals on Massdrop seem to be a more dramatic savings.
Massdrop: blue barebones 94.99 + 8.75 = 103.74 Massdrop: red barebones 100.99 + 8.75 = 109.74
WASD: blue barebones 100.00 + 12.69 = 112.69 WASD: red barebones 110.00 + 12.69 = 122.69 WASD: brown barebones 105.00 + 12.69 = 117.69 WASD: silent red barebones 115.00 + 12.69 = 127.69
blue barebones savings = 8.95 red barebones savings = 12.95 brown barebones savings = CANNOT HAVE HERE silent red barebones savings = WHY NOT MASSDROP/WASD
And just for fun, let's take a look at getting them with keycaps (BTW what I'm actually interested in is getting a genuine Dvorak for once; haven't heard about terrible WASD keycaps but if you have a link please share the info):
Massdrop: blue blanks 139.99 + 8.75 = 148.74 WASD: blue blanks 150.00 + 12.69 = 162.69 blue blanks savings = 13.95
Does it come with a warranty if purchased here either?

vsyncFair point. In that case, you're way better eating the extra cost to have it in a week rather than a couple of months.

How do you do per-key RGB lighting on a Shift V2?

I saw the online configurator that lets you do this on the Shift V1, where it spits out a compiled firmware file to flash. The V2 doesn't seem to have this function in the Windows configurator, though. I can't imagine the answer here is "you're going to have to manually write the hex for every key in QMK, compile it, and flash that".
