JDM_GTI understand. I wasn’t thinking international. I see your advantage. However, novice US buyer’s need to know this.

I see no value or reason why this knife is on massdrop. You will pay the same at vertualy any knife retailer that sells WE knives. I would never purchase a knife thru massdrop over a normal retailer unless there was added value or exclusivity, none of which is shown in this offering.

Typo in the first paragraph, where ‘new’ is spelled ‘knew’.

BaccaBossMCOld knews. This was reported during the original drop, and it still has not been fixed.

I tend to like 4 to 5 oz knives for daily carry, 6.1 is not outrageous but still more than I like.

Great deal. One penny off list price. Also, of all We's budget flippers, this one flips the worse.

nextcityYes, I don’t understand the drops that are the same price as every other retailer on the internet. I thought the purpose of these group buys was to save money. No savings here!

I would be buying way more WE knives if they'd just slow their roll on the wacky compound grinds.
How are you supposed to sharpen these things? You'll end up rounding that second tip off in no time as you try to work out the transition from the flat to convex grind.

I have access to a belt grinder. I can make quick work of it.

PigmonkeYAs long as you strop to orange is the new black, you're good. Otherwise it won't come out right.

I can't find this anywhere on the Web to compare price. I can find similar models but none that are as easy on the eyes. Is this new or discontinued?

PollluxSeems to be new, currently MD exclusive.
Edit: It has been added to their website. http://www.weknife.com/a/Model___709/2017/0630/259.html

So this or the Massdrop x Ferrum Forge Crux S35VN Folding Knife? Since WE will also be making that one?

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on both the WE 709 and the Crux. Thanks everyone for the helpful advice / information.

GoKartMozartI went with the Crux because, while I love the design of this one, it is way too big for general use. If this came in at a 3.5" blade, I would've picked it up the last time it dropped without a second thought.

Can we get a 703 drop going? Basically the only knife in their budget line that doesn't have a massive 4-inch blade.

pixllWe Knife has now added the 709 to their site. It seem the 4" size here was rounded up. It is listed as 3.9" on the We site. The 703 is listed as 3.7". Not really much difference if size is your only concern.
Also for anyone wondering, since it isn't listed on the drop. Clip Material: 6AL4V Titanium Back Spacer Material: 6AL4V Titanium Screws Material: 6AL4V Titanium Pivot Cap: 6AL4V Titanium Washers Material: Ceramic Ball Bearing
The liner is stainless steel, as expected.

Love the blade geometry and looks of this knife, but 9" overall length with a 4" blade is pretty huge for an EDC knife.

CyphreWith a 4" folder the shortest it could possibly be is twice the blade length and a little more, so about 8.25". I don't know how much that extra .75 will bother me in my pocket and I really like the look of it.

TezcatlipocaThe only reason that it is a problem for me is because the max blade size where i live is 3.5".
