It is a blatent copy of the spyderco vollotton even the tip.Its a very nice knife but I cannot support theft from the chinese.

PorkfriedchristThat's quite a bit of a stretch. The Valotton is a liner lock, not a framelock, has no flipper or bearings, a hollow ground blade, different handle construction and shape, different materials, and only vaguely the same blade shape. Oh, and WE uses that tip grind on several of their knives, not just this one.

salehonasiThank you!....it's like saying a civic is a copy of a corolla because they're both cars... It's normal that in the vast world of folding knives you come across "similar designs". Doesn't mean it was copied.

PorkfriedchristThis isn't even close to the Valotton. I don't see how you call it a blatant copy. There's at most a vague resemblance, but the same can be said of many knives. Take a look again, side by side, and you'll see that they're very different knives.

HackenslashYou're totally overlooking the fact that they both fold - tucking the edged portion of their blades nicely into the scales. Hence, preventing injury to the carrier. This feature, Butch Vallotton invented, right around the same time Al Gore was busy inventing hammocks for spiders or something. Some people really overlook the obvious. Stop blasting the only one with open eyes! A question for those who have experience with this particular model: Would it be a good eyeliner sharpener?

overgroundThanks overground for bringing Butch Vallotton into discussion and thanks to Porkfriedchrist for bringing Spyderco Vallotton into the picture. After doing some research, I've decided to forgo this drop and ordered the Spyderco Vallotton instead. In term of build quality and functionality, the Spyderco Vallotton looks like it is ready for heavy duty work as well as looking very solid. This WE 606, with its limited color option, looks like it belongs to the "flipping for fun" crowd as well as a show piece.
Since I've enough flipping for fun collections, you guys got me hook on the Spyderco Vallotton!

HackenslashIt is a total copy and side by side its mirrorred .the handle grind and profile are the same.the chinese do this all the time.go and support theft to a horrible country.of coarse they changed some things but its the grind.the profile ,the tip,handle.its just a pimped version.they should come up with there own pay over 200$ for a knife made by slave labor and theft its youre money.buy a vollotyon save money and get a better knife and guarantee.you wont get that from we.pluss bearings are just a dad and dont belong on folders sand destroyes them and it weakens the pivot strength.to open the blade .00000009 faster not worth it.

dtw898I love my Vallotton. For most, It's limited by heft for an EDC, but damn it's a sexy beast. Therapist-mandated confession: I own far too many knives. Besides sheer mass, the only other potential complaint I would make about the Vallotton is my suspicion that if it were used for extensive cutting tasks - which I'm sure is not it's manufactured intent, the lockbar would create a hotspot on your index finger. The preceding is merely an opinion and has not been personally tested and verified. For the price, you can actually carry it without much worry of having to take out a 2nd if damaged or lost. And the "wow" factor received by viewers of the collection will consistently rival that inspired by many of my $1000+ blades.

At first brush, the over-sized thumb hole seemed so dominant and distracted but after looking at the pictures more carefully, I could tell the "heft" as well as the substance of the Vallotton. As to comparing to the WE 606, for lack of better analogy, it's like comparing a battleship with a destroyer. For those wondering, the battleship is the Spyderco Vallotton.
