I have been purchasing earphones, including Bose and a bunch of other ones and they all end up cracked , wires broken or otherwise unusable. I have been looking for a pair w/replaceable wire and this appears to fit the bill. Although not necessarily cheap, if this unit lasts, I will make out in the long run. I am not that picky of a music aficionado but simply looking for a good quality all around set to listen to music, watch movies and play games. Could anybody chime in who has hx w/this brand to let me know if this is an appropriate or simply overkill choice for what I am looking for (I'd be happy to pay less for a less sophisticated sound although I don't want crap either).

DesastorAre you sure you want IEMs? They do tend to get uncomfortable after using them for a while. There are some pairs of full size headphones on here that are cheaper and might be more appropriate in terms of comfort.

demizeThat is why I am so interested in the Westone's although I don't wear in ears excessively long. They are suppose to fit impeccable and the sound is suppose to be nice. Moreover, I believe they fit comfortably below my motorcycle helmet as I like to listen to music off road and away from society. Over the ears are not comfortable for me d/t the headband (at least the one's I have tried). This seems to be a good option.

DesastorAs with any universal IEMs, the fit can be pretty dependent on your ears as well as which tips you use. These should sound pretty good though, and they're worn cable-up so it'll be easier to find the right fit. Since they're BA drivers, you can also get them reshelled as custom IEMs if you spend a bit more, and I believe you can even get Westone to make custom tips that would get the same fit as custom IEMs but be a bit cheaper (and less destructive).

demizeI can't talk about these specifically as I do not own them but as for Westone IEM's I bought the adventurers 18 or so months ago on this site, not the same in sound quality (although rather good) they have a similar cable and connectors and I wear them almost daily for a few hours at work out in all weathers and they work as new today, wet, cold, sun has not effected the quality at all.

demizeYeah, I gather is about $200 to get custom molds fit. I may go that road in case I am going to purchase another paid of IEMs down the road. I think I start w/WS and then see if I need to do something else. But apparently custom molds step up sound quality a bit more.... Who'd knew....(sure the hell not me)
