There are cards with exact same specs as this for $20 with free shipping from China (which likely MP purchased and privately labeled). With a group buy the price could be $16-$17 with free shipping to Massdrop and then about $2 to us. So for $20 or a little less we could get this same card but in just a few days from MD instead of 2-3 weeks from China.

Would this work with raspberry pis? Basically if you used this wifi-SD card to boot from instead of a normal SD card with Raspian or other Linux distros to boot from? I only ask this because it seems much more convenient to have a wifi-SD card to boot the Pi from and also be able to access the SD card with your own laptop's wifi to transfer files from the Pi to your own computer quickly.

This seems a little goofy. It creates its own wifi hotspot? Meaning whatever device you want the pictures on has to drop its current connection and connect to this instead to perform the wireless transfer? Seems like it'd be better for the card to connect to existing wifi (similar to EyeFi). Am I missing something?
