Hi mass drop community! Thank you so much for your support, interest and questions! I wanted to start by sharing this link that tells our company journey from the very beginning: https://www.winkpens.com/pages/about-us Next, to clarify and answer questions in regards to the comments here about the first edition Wink Pen:) GLASS NIB - In comparison to the antique glass dip pens from the 20’s that our nibs are inspired from, those antique dip pens used to be made from a glass rod that already had the profile in them with the grooves. Today, the glass rods are not manufactured anymore and in order for us to attain them would require very large volumes of custom glass that is simply unrealistic from a small company like ourselves to afford. Therefore, our glass workers and I have basically come up with a way to hand-make each glass rod then blow, pull out and sand them each to the end finished product. (**See video on mass drop for a quick back scene look on how these are made**). The nibs, as a hand-made process, are naturally only getting better with time. As of just a couple months ago for example, I made changes in how tightly they were spun and to the size of the tail end, while also making micro-changes in how I clip and sand them. This has improved the design greatly as far as capillary action and writing tip size, which is now finer in comparison to our earliest iterations. As with any product, I only anticipate that the design will continue to evolve as time goes on. With that being said, all these orders going out for MassDrop are our newest nibs. I am actually sanding them this week and they will ship out immediately upon receiving the shipping labels after the close of this drop. In regards to different tip sizes, with our current process we only have so much control over the tip size. The newest ones are comparable to a fine tipped sharpie however dependent on pressure and writing speed, you can play with getting more variation in stroke sizes. I’d be happy to shoot a demo video and do some writing samples tomorrow which I can post to our instagram page. More writing samples from myself and other customers can also be found there as well: www.instagram.com/winkpens As with any new company or product, I only see it continuing to evolve. WINKPENS is doing company re-launch sometime next year after this first edition is sold out. So, I ask if you order a pen and have thoughts to share, please fill out the survey link that comes with your pen so we can continue to improve and incorporate your thoughts in the next edition! :) PRICE - Our pricing is on the higher side in comparison to comparable products at this time due to low manufacturing quantities and also due to time and labor that comes with the hand-made nib. HOW ALTERNATIVE LIQUIDS COMPARE TO TRADITIONAL INKS - There are many factors to this. The main ones being the kind of fluid you are using and also the type of paper (this will play a large role in absorption and how vivid your nontraditional 'inks' will show up). Please note that art papers tend to work great with runnier inks (Ex: multimedia canson paper is a go to for me for wine) not so much 'coated' paper such as laser jet paper. Again, a lot of this is experimentation and greatly varies based on the type of liquid being used, as well as the desired result. The more concentrated the ink or liquid is naturally , the darker the color will be and vis versa.
KICKSTARTED BACKERS - Yes, we are still shipping and the goal is to have everything shipped by year end. As many of you know, if you’ve followed all our updates, we had many unforeseen manufacturing hurdles and financial stressors that delayed the release of the product. The exclusive updates if you have missed any can be found here. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/173263176/winkpens-write-with-wine-juice-or-tea-get-creative/updates REPLACEMENT PARTS - The pen is built to be very modular for the reason so we can replace components if anything breaks. Just contact us directly and we will take care of you. Nibs too will be added to our online store soon as a stand alone product. OTHER NIBS IN THE FUTURE? - Yes, we are looking into other manufacturing processes, materials, colors now and hope to have more variation in the future. You can subscribe at www.winkpens.com for exclusive updates! For those curious too, you can find a 2 minute video that captures our story if you scroll down from our home page at www.winkpens.com Thank you again everyone and I will check in again tomorrow! :)
WINKPENSThank you for this very comprehensive response Jess.

TherocOf course! Figured I would try to get everyone's questions answered and I completely understand the curiosity with a new product !:)
Oh and the question in regards to writing with blood , lol. We do not encourage this use due to the safety of our customers but given it is a staining , runny liquid if used before it coagulates , yes . It should work. Let's say we'be had customers that have loaded an array of liquids in the pen aready haha
