What was the final drop price on these, and will they ever be offered again? I just browsed over to the website, and only pen stands are currently available. I just received the complete 8 bottle set from the last drop for them, and this is the only stand I've found made especially for these bottles. Or... Could buy the CAD files/material list? LOL
NeWaVdubsIf enough people request them, there might well be another drop. Failing that, drop me an email. :)

KomitadjieThanks mate! I'm gonna wait it out first. I don't have all 8 of them yet.
drakeonyouSounds like a good plan to me!
Today saw tremendous progress!
Started out this morning with the third machining operations on all of the stands:

Then it was out to the shop, where I cut them free of the remaining wood and ran the router around them to clean them up.

Then a whole lot of sanding, and finish for everyone! Three coats on each side, sanding between coats. My drying area has space for only four or so at a time, so most the flat surfaces available in the shop got conscripted as ersatz drying racks.

Then out with the epoxy, and on with the bearings!

And some rubber feet, for good measure.

Laser cutting the felt for the pocket inserts, I'm using a synthetic felt here that is extremely tough, and is made from recycled water bottles.

Some craft glue, the printed up felt-stomper, and a ton of laser cut pocket inserts!

And here's the final batch, all lined up and ready to go! I plan to package them all tomorrow, with shipping to take place either tomorrow or Monday, depending on how my daughter's dance recital goes. The production phase of this drop is officially complete!

Just finished the second machining on all remaining stands! Still ten in the batch, no attrition yet. Six of the remaining seven un-shipped finished units are packed up and will go out in tomorrow morning's mail, I ran out of bubble wrap, so that will be in tomorrow morning's pick-up list. I am hoping to complete the third-machining stage tomorrow, and move on to the shop for the hand work!
So far, so good!
Wow, looks like it made it all the way up to 20 at the last minute! So here is ten more blanks, just finished with their first machining operations last evening. I'm building in one spare as insurance against attrition during machining, so far, so good! I anticipate starting second machining this afternoon, and it will take a couple days to finish, then off to the shop for the finishing steps.
As soon as I get the labels in from Massdrop, I'll start shipping out the first batch of eleven, I'm hoping for that in the next day or so. :) I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it, but I'm going to shoot for having this entire drop shipped by the end of the month.

KomitadjieThank you for keeping us up to date, and it has been really useful seeing the production photos. I was wondering if you'd mind me showing them to a fellow teacher who runs Industrial Arts at our school?
SandalphonYou are more than welcome to! Glad you're enjoying the updates. :)
Last night was productive! Eight of the ten new blanks have had the second machining operation completed, I'm going to try for getting the remaining two through that process and into the third (and final) machining operation this evening. I'm somewhat ahead of my projected schedule there, things are looking good. The pictures detail both stages of the machining, you can tell the roughing passes from the finishing passes by the quality of the pocket side-walls.

Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Wood Stand for Diamine 150th Anniversary Inks and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 6/17.
We will keep the group updated throughout the fulfillment process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 6/1.
If you have any questions, please visit our Help Center (http://massdrop.com/helpcenter).
And it looks like we ended with 19 total orders! I have the next eight blanks cut to size and planed down, they start into first-stage machining tomorrow. :)

I love getting to see these all get made! =D
KrisLyssaraIf you'd like, I can take more in-progress photos during the next run. :)
Here's a couple from this set, the first just after the machining stages were completed, the second after the bearings had been glued on, but before the felt was placed.
