Props for bringing in a Case featuring CV steel! If you bring a two bladed CV Case with a wharncliffe (the Sway Back would be nice), I'd be all over it (probably a couple of them).
CV is better than the SS. It is 1095 with some chrome and vanadium. It will acquire a patina over time; or plain rust if you really abuse it. I just ordered two CVs from another site. I have an SS Sod Buster, but I wanted something that Case made in CV. If you want their SS, it is 420HC. Nobody does that steel better than Buck. I really like the scales on these.
14themoneyYes. May not be a huge bargain price-wise, but I love Case knives in CV steel, and this is a really nice color that would go well with the patina that will develop. Wish they were dropping the Sod Buster Jr or Peanut in Whisky.
megical_bananaThat's what I was thinking, too. I picked up two of the Jumbo Stockman and one of the Butterbean pattern knives when I was last over in the US in 2017. They were around $45 at the time, and checking up today's prices, they've not changed much.
