Thanks for the great information! One more question, are the face buttons serviceable? I have a Razer Sabertooth on which, after 170 hours of Witcher 3, the B button has gotten somewhat sticky. Just curious as it was mentioned some of the components are replaceable.

raitoxNot as serviceable as the paddles/sticks. You'll likely void the warranty, but I've put in a few hundred hours since November and it's still going strong. Also, you'll minimize usage on the face buttons the more you get used to the paddles. There is a learning curve on the paddles, BTW. It took me ~15 hours.

RidevaDemocritusThis thing looks great for Rocket League, and the paddles would be a huge help, especially as it can be hard to hit all of the buttons you need to hit at the same time in that game. And now with yaw control, yeah. I think I am in for this. Let's hope the refurb job is clean.

raitoxLOVE it for RL. The accessories app lets you save schemes for individual games, 2 at a time, so you can have two schemes on your controller at any given moment. I tried to play Rocket League the other day at a friends house and didn't know the buttons, I've become that reliant on the Elite.

RidevaDemocritusAmazing! Thanks for the feedback on this thing, it sounds like a beast. I'm looking forward to trying it out!

raitoxNo problem! It's hard to justify the cost, but to be completely honest it's worth the full price of admission. I've decided not to grab a refurb just because I have one already (man I hope I don't jinx it's durability!) and I have my eye on some other stuff. Got a new keyboard I want to build, and I want some Zealios... And of course I've got some vacation coming up, so the money could be used elsewhere. Enjoy it!!! It's worth it 100%.

RidevaDemocritusI'm playing Rocket League A LOT (and by A LOT, I mean A LOT... I have 100h logged past 2 weeks). I'm nowhere near as good as I'd like (slowly grinding the ranks, currently around shooting star). I've always been using a good ole Xbox One original controller but I want to buy a second one as a spare because it's the cheaper piece of equipment I got (keyboard, mouse and headset are expansive these days) so I tend to put my frustration on the controller when things don't go my way. The controller still looks brand new. I was looking at buying the same one with the wireless adapter and a lithium-ion battery pack (all sold by Microsoft).
For someone already used to the controls in RL (all default controls except LT as air roll), how much of a difference would it make to have the additional fonctionalities of that controller?

dnLLIf you're REALLY used to the controls, I don't know if it's gonna be that different, but for me I have drift on the paddle for my right middle finger, jump on my right ring finger, roll on left middle, and otherwise default. I actually turned off the face buttons on the controller to force myself to learn the paddles. It is EASILY a few hours of a learning curve to get used to the paddles themselves, but after that it's pretty effortless to map new settings and switch between games.
I will go from MGSV to Rocket League to Division to Forza Horizons 2 and it all works pretty great. You learn to map specific actions to the paddles and not buttons. For instance, in any FPS I play, 'jump' action is always the same paddle. Grenade is always the same paddle. Reload is always the same paddle, etc.
Theres fine tweaks and adjustments between them, but for the most part, the carry-over works well like that (quick time events still suck).

RidevaDemocritusThanks for the input. I totally understand how long it could be to get used to the paddles. I just look at pictures of the controller and can't imagine how I will be able to use the paddles at all, it almost seems too much. I'm good with my thumbs, but from my middle finger to my pinky, it's almost like I can't actually move one finger without moving all 3 of them. This is strange haha. No problem with my index or my thumb obviously. I guess I would have to try it and really force myself to learn (it's probably just a question of practice and muscle memory), but I'm just not sure if it's worth it. Nearly all pros use the default Xbox controller, some use the DualShock 4, and then some do have the Elite (hello Low5ive) or Scuf. Apart from the paddles, anything else I should consider on the Elite? The D-pad isn't used that much in most games (only quick chat in RL) so no real benefits here. Having bigger or longer analog sticks could be useful maybe but there are mods for the regular controller for that.

dnLLHonestly, if you spend that much time holding the controller, the premium feel of it is worth it. It's really nice in the hand. The swappable sticks are AMAZING; I use the rounded stick on the left for any FPS or RPG where I'm sprinting a lot and the tall stick on the right for sniping. I use the short stick on the left for driving. The swappable dpad feels really nice and for anytihng where you use a dpad wheel on-screen the faceted one is pretty nice. Takes some adjustment.
Bottom line: If you spend a lot of time on the xbox, you have the money, and you're willing to spend some frustrating hours getting used to the paddles, it's worth it. I wouldn't give mine up for anything.

RidevaDemocritusI actually play on PC only (never had any console other than my Nintendo GameCube) but from what I read, the Elite controls are correctly detected in Windows (it's Microsoft after all). I'll probably give it a try, thank you.

dnLLI think it's easy to change that from 'xbox' to 'gaming'. If you like to game, and you like the xbox controller, this is good. E3 is going on right now, you might want to wait a little bit. There will be some cool colorways for the Elite controller.

RidevaDemocritusI'm gonna borrow a Xbox One Scuf controller from a friend, it will give me a good idea about the paddles and other extras like the taller sticks.
