So... is the only difference between this "B" variant TA-01B and the original xDuoo TA-01 (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/xduoo-ta-01-dac-amp) the DAC section? This "B" with dual Cirrus Logic CS4382A vs the dual Wolfson WM8470 in the original TA-01? How much does that affect the sound signature?

trellusThe difference is the manufacturer has updated the software making it functionally more stable and also supporting 32-bit audio. The USB section is also upgraded to XMOS U8. The DAC chip is CS4398 which is used in high-end systems like Marantz, Decware etc. More positive info on the CS4398: "if I only add that Wolfson has been acquired by Cirrus Logic a couple of years ago. So it is not anormal that eventually a Cirrus Logic DAC would take the place of a Wolfson DAC chip as an update. I wouldn’t bother too much about the DAC change. True The manufacturer should update the description of the product, but in the end the DAC swap isn’t sgnificant. This Cirrus 4398 DAC chip is also being used in highly regarded CD players from Marantz and other well recognized brands. Do not be alarmed."
