trapnineWell i tried to output sounds onto my HK Nova 2.0 speakers (usb-dac mode).
If its pre amp, i shud be able to control the volume ryt? But i cant.
Still the tube got hot. Not the transformer though.
I cant determine if the tube is working in that mode.
Maybe i have to remove it to make sure.

BeginnersYeah, if you can't control the volume then they're line outs. Unfortunately that doesn't indicate whether they'll have the tube sound or not. The tube will heat up anytime voltage is applied to its heater pins. Doesn't mean there's any signal going through it or where that signal ends up. It'd certainly be funny if it puts sound on the RCA outs without the tube even installed, but it's possible. If you give it a try do let me know how it goes!

trapnineI just did. And even without the tubes, it sounded via line out to HKNova.
I think the higher series TA20 may have the pre-amp functions.(but without dac)

BeginnersWow, that's surprising! So it works as a DAC with no tubes installed... Thanks for checking!
Seems strange to me, but that's great as the DAC in this is a good one and this way you can listen to it clean directly, or colored with tube magic by using the headphone outputs as preamp.

trapnineI will try to plug my speakers on the headphone amp later.. Right now im enjoying the cayinn5ii- xduoota10- senn momentum2 over ear..
Im in awe, my momentums doesnt sing like this before. But ill try more songs, to be sure.
