Hi all, having some issues with my XD-05. Whenever I move it , the DAC seems to disconnect. Sometime it will work again sometime not. Anyone with the same issue? Sounds like a possible H/W defect, no?
Sounds like a HW problem to me.
I can move my unit around without issue. In fact, the other day (just playing around) I had it in my pocket with my phone running and powering my headphones while doing miscellaneous crap around the house. Plenty of physical movement, shaking, bouncing, kids running into me, etc. I don't recall having having any issue other than the volume knob getting moved a little while in the pocket.
Sorry I dont have the same device to compare to. I've had this issue with my Centrance Dac/Amp. I switched usb cord an it cut down on it happening a bunch. It's seems as is there is any flaw in the connection, it can cause the driver to fail and disconnect. I'm still thinking about buying some kind of "audio" grade cable as a result.
When I switched from a generic USB cable to a 25-30 one branded as shielded for audio (I assume a shield in general will help regardless if it's for audio or not, it could just be snake oil) I noticed quite the difference and a lot less buzz. It might have just been from an old cable that wasn't 2.0 but you don't have to go into the obscene $100+ range since you tend to hit diminishing returns.
