If you have the K7XX skip this and get the CEntrance, it sounds way better than this on those headphones (it's also way smaller and cheaper).
If you have something like the Sennheiser HD590's get this. This dac/amp recesses the mids and brings out the bass and high's exceptionally well on the 590's making them way more enjoyable. And it powered them perfectly.
However it killed my K7XX's mids and made the bass a little muddy.
It's still a good value for what you get just not for someone who has headphones with a V shape sound signature.
JHum22I noticed the recessed mids too with my Oppo PM-3s while A/B testing the Xduoo against my HTC 10. The mids however were noticeably more warm and lively after I swapped in the Burson v5i opamp though, while maintaining its overall articulate presentation. Even with an opamp swap, I find it to be one of the most affordable dac/amp combos out there considering its specs.
tarachiiThinking of buying and doing the same thing. Where do you recommend buying a legit burson opamp? And does it come already made or do you have to solder the pins on to it to swap it?
infinityfineit'll probably be fine, because by all accounts the HE 4XX doesn't have the V shaped sound signature and is more on the neutral, albeit bright side.
