asdfasdfafhgahDid you get the 3.34 driver from here? Works for me: http://www.xduoo.co.jp/driver/

trapninei actually fixed this by downloading a blank audio file and looping it so the device never stops and makes the relay sound. using those drivers too.

asdfasdfafhgahHmm, after installing the right USB driver, mine only clicks when using the optical input (which I use 90% of the time, to minimize noise). Optical clicks every time the sound stopped and starts, clicking on for each little sound played but skipping the first second of every sound. Very annoying! I fixed that a different way - I selected the stereo mix properties in the recording pane of windows sound control panel and checked the 'listen' box. I experimented and it works even with stereo mix input level at 0 - it keeps the optical channel open and broadcasting silence, since it thinks it's listening to the 3.5mm line inputs. I have a realtek controller - yours might be called 'line in' or something else.

AdviceGuyTo add to AdviceGuy's post, playing with the sound buffer size may help as well. Increasing it can eliminate clicks and pops and stuff. It will be in the driver settings or ASIO control panel or something. I would be more specific if I had one of these.

trapnineOver the last two years I've had no issues at all with my FiiO E17K. Although I recently retired the FiiO to portable use only as I switched to a SMSL AD18 to power speakers instead of headphones.
I used an extra phone charger to keep the FiiO E17K powered, and a Signstek HIFI USB to Coaxial S/PDIF Converter ($25) :: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FEDHHKE/ to pass-through the digital USB to the FiiO's Coax-in.
When used with a PC directly, neither the FiiO nor Signstek required any drivers.
Athough the more serious audiophiles prolly want a more expensive solution.

CrashNBurnThat is a strange setup for an E17k. Your E17k no longer works through USB with your computer? E17k has the excellent, low-jitter SA9027 USB receiver chipset, very audiophile, while that inexpensive converter is using the outdated, high-jitter (and thus much lower fidelty) PCM2704 receiver, plus something also "lo-fi" for the coax transmission.

Valensilius_ZephyrusThe E17K's USB is fine. Never really used it for a PC DAC, just confirmed it worked on a few occasions.
I didn't use the Signstek as a digital-to-analog convertor (but did confirm those worked), and I could be mistaken, but I reasoned that digital USB-in to digital COAX-out on the Signstek would bypass the PCM2704.
Either way, I couldn't hear any difference as for stationary use at the time I primarily used the setup to run 4-5 mediocre speakers with a 5-way aux-splitter.
I switched the setup to the SMSL AD18 to power a decent pair of Pioneer TS-X200's and a pseudo-woofer -- delegating the E17K to portable use, and a car Amp.

CrashNBurnCoax-out can't bypass the 2704, something has to convert the USB input for the S/PDIF (coax-out) format.
