is anyone else getting an issue where if it experiences a light knock, it disconnects the usb in? i can't seem to use mine reliably with my phone, and if someone knocks my desk hard enough, it also disconnects when im on my computer. just checking because i did drop it once :c.

KumaHIMEOkay, I have to amend my previous comment. I connected the "Device" connector of the DAC to a few USB 3.0 ports and noticed that it would intermittently disconnect - just like what you're describing. However, there isn't a problem when you connect the device to a USB 2.0 port. So, try connecting the DAC to a USB 2.0 port and see if that solves the issue.

KumaHIMEstill same issue. only disconnects when the usb cable gets lightly tapped...and i know its not the usb connection on the computer because those connectors have never given me trouble, even when moving an external hard drive around that was still connected :/ even tried on my old laptop with same result. and my phone is usb 2.0, still happens :c

KumaHIMEI wonder if it could be the power demands on your USB ports, or possibly a problem with your USB cable. Here's what you can do. Try purchasing an external USB hub with a separate 12 V power adapter. The funny thing is, I have my XD-05 connected to the USB 3.0 ports on my Das Keyboard 4 and it seems to work pretty well now. The USB 2.0 ports from my motherboard were giving serious disconnecting issues with this DAC, though (just like what you mentioned).

evilizlanit ended up being a cable problem. get a good quality usb extension cable for connecting to a computer (flexible cable, preferably thin, connectors should make a tight fit on the usb interface of the amp). a good quality OTG cable with 90° connectors will help when pairing with phones. i made one modification to the cables though. i used rubber electric tape to wrap the usb A female end of the cables, increasing the size of the outer case of the connector, until the connector fit snugly into the Xduoo. This ensures the connector stays in straight. This last part improved the stability of the connection, but you shouldn't have to do this with a cable that has tight fitting connectors. I have rarely had a disconnect over the 1.5 years or so after implementing the solution.
I'm guessing what is happening is, if the usb A female end of the cable gets shifted slightly, causing the pins on the cable's connector to hit the plastic inside the Xduuo's usb connector, and ends up lifting the pins, creating a gap between the 2 usb connectors.
tl;dr, get good cables with tight fitting, 90° connectors to solve problem.

KumaHIMEThanks man! I've cured my xd05. I sandpaper and let the contacts of the PCB grounds metallic (better conductor) since the black paint covered the contacts before, and I resolder the usb points.
FYI, I'm using the original Sony OTG cable since my player is Sony.
Cheers
