Does anyone else's unit rattle when they shake it? :4

inifistonly a tiny bit, and I think it's the buttons along the left side. if you press on those a tiny bit and shake it, the rattle stops. To me this unit has very nice fit and finish, especially compared to the XD-05, where the circuit board can move about in its chassis.

trapnineDoes it sound as good as the XD-05?

Love my ’05, but a smaller Bluetooth alternative would be great.

AntoinePHmm. I guess 'yes', because I can't really tell the difference most of the time, but it has no bass boost and not nearly as much power. That may not matter depending on your 'phones and preferences... I'd say it's worth getting if you really want that smaller size or that BT. The XP-2 also advertises much better battery life, but I haven't tested that yet. Otherwise, you're covered with the XD-05, which is still my favorite headamp! Earlier I put a long-ish review on another post on this thread you may want to check out also.

trapnineThat’s my XD-05 in the photo, I’ve been more than happy with it (once I ditched the crappy USB cable). Smaller and Bluetooth is the appeal, but I’ll probably end up getting a DAP anyway. I have HD-6XXs, so I do need some power. Bass boost is nice too for my brighter earbuds. I saw on the Penon site someone is making a Bluetooth module specifically to plug into the back of the XD-05. It would make for one chunky unit though, and it’s not worth USD$55 IMO.

AntoinePYeah that crappy cable belongs in the garbage! How many returns have they had because of their cheapness on those cables I wonder. The XP-2 had much better, little 3 inch cables in the box (one was USB-C). Oh yeah, xduoo has that module on their japanese site... I saw it awhile back when looking to see what DAC chip this XP-2 has (AKM4452). I agree it doesn't really make too much sense for the XD-05. I was surprised they made it!

AntoinePI just bought one of the Bluetooth modules, and it is amazingly small -- a lot smaller than you think it would be. It adds a little bit of length to the XD-05, and it sounds great. It is *well worth* the $55, if for no other reason than you don't have to deal with the XD-05's goofy cables that never fit great, and it also lets you keep your phone far enough away that there's no RF static. I was skeptical, but decided to buy it because I love my updated XD-05 (with a Burson opamp), and it is a winner!
