Most car chargers on the market are either bulky or unsightly. Looking to solve this dilemma, XENO set out to develop a device that’ll hold your phone and charge it without any pesky cables or extra hardware Read More
I just got this and i love it. We'll see how long the mechanical arms keep working.
I'm not using the vent mount because my vents are located behind the steering wheel [who designs these dashboards anyway?].
Fortunately, I have a nice sticky suction cup model that i was using, and the connection is pretty universal, so i could swap it out.
One item i am curious about is that when i open the car, the arms open up. Then they close before i can put in the phone, so i have to wave to have it open up again. If anyone knows why it does this, i'd apprecitate it.
The arms may be mechanical, and I may be misunderstanding how it is meant to work. Regardless, the charger could be powered even if it is not capable of charging the phone, so a feature like the arms (if requiring of power) would still be able to operate as designed.
XenoMuseYes, but the way I read it, if you want to mount a non-wireless-charging phone to it, and charge the phone, you would need TWO power supplies, one for the mount and arms, and the other to charge the phone. Not practical in a car.
Also - just looking at those pictures, it doesn't seem like there's a way to connect power to the phone as it rests on that mount blocking the port.
