42 mm in a square watch is the visual equivalent of a 47 mm round watch.
Also, I like people to occasionally notice and comment on my watches, but not every random person walking down the street.
I don't know if the quartz are any better, but the mechanical versions of these Xerics are hot garbage and the build quality is the same. I got used to telling time on the original Xeriscope but it lost time like nobody's business and trying to set it was a nightmare.
I wish I knew how to get a watch on massdrop. I like the Woodgrain watches at https://www.originalgrain.com/collections/all-watches
if someone can get the eccentric squared on here.... ought to be able t get a bid on these!
Not an attractive watch. The bigger issue is I stare at the photos and for the life of me can't tell what time it's showing in the pictures. I'm too old to have to learn how to tell time again.
I am used to quickly glancing at traditionally designed watches to find the time. I have two Xeric watches from Kickstarter promotions. I don't wear them--it's rude to others for me to stare at my Xerics for the period it takes me to decipher the dial. I suppose I could train up to use the Xerics, however I have other watches I like in my rotation, so the Xerics sit. Just my experience, hope it is of some help.
This is $250 shipped, from watches.com, which is an authorized dealer. So this "drop" is certainly not a very good deal. Frankly, I kind of like the way the watch looks, but its design is what I would call polarizing. But I'd never buy it from here, when I can get it for the same price elsewhere, immediately. The other vendor will ship worldwide, by the way.
As a general rule, the more expensive the watch/drop, the more wacko the comments get. But seriously, if you like the watch, I hope the drop works out for you. Xeric used to be on several other sites, so it might pay to look around if the drop doesn't work. Cheers and happy watch hunting!
