As a network guy, and serious technophile, I'm pretty pleased with getting number 255. I went ahead and replaced the keycaps with the black Vortex backlit PBT doubleshot set drop I grabbed. Much better, IMHO, they look and feel nicer to me at least. Had some problems when taking the old keycaps off - three of the keys pulled the housing up with them even though I was being careful. But, with steady hands and patience, they go back together easily enough - you just need to make sure they are perfectly level with the backplate while you try to re-insert them, or you'll have a bad time. Use a keycap remover [the loop kind] or similar to hold the spring in to the housing until you're ready to drop it into place. Speaking of springs, the keys feel a lot lighter than the 50g spec, but I am comfortable with 35-45 on my Topre boards, so it's actually better for me than 50, which is nice. There were some grubby finger/grease marks on the top of the acrylic, but these came off with a microfiber cloth, and I expected them on such a small run. On the whole, considering the excellent price, and the retro-awesome tech for the switches, this keyboard is a dream. Between my Topre boards and this, I think my standard mech boards might end up in the kids room.
