So let me get this straight, the specs say: Power consumption: 70 Watts Output power: 150 Watts
So it's magical? It puts out more than you put in? I call BS specs.

two3eightIn principle I know you're mostly right. It just bugs me when companies put out ridiculous specs without the specifics that make them even vaguely meaningful. Also, it's gotta be less than 70W RMS unless it's 100% efficient, and 150W peak isn't a lot of headroom for a sub. But that's just arguing about numbers and I haven't listened to one so I'll go shut up now ;-)

Bob13013Also curious as to the +/-3dB specs are for frequency response, not +/-10dB. Most everything goes that low as long as you increase the rolloff to +/- whatever decibel level you need.

Bob13013An example when output power can be listed as higher than power consumption is when power consumption is a minimum spec (ie. at idle) and output power is a maximum spec (ie. at full power). They should be more specific.

nowayYep. My car uses almost no fuel when parked, but that's useless information.
