Received mine (pocket, M nib) on Friday. The nib's very smooth and writes fairly wet. I'm finding it quite comfortable in hand and overall it seems fairly well made. The cap posts firmly, though it's loose when closed. The cap snaps closed using what appears to be a nylon inner cap (keeping ink away from the silver cap). Has anyone else noticed the cap being loose when closed?

Got my pen today. Beautiful. Haven't inked it yet - noticed some sticky grease on the rotating part of the inside ink adapter but mostly wiped off. A lot lighter than I had thought it would be and thin (the full sized one) - any thinner that it would be uncomfortable to use.

Great news group! The vendor has let us know that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse now. Based on the tracking provided these are scheduled to come in 11/3. Our warehouse team has been forwarded tracking info and will be standing by, ready to get these packed up and turned around as soon as they come in.
Sometimes shipments get delayed en route, not to worry as we will keep the group posted throughout the process and notify you all if anything causes delay.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 11/4 or sooner if something comes up.

We are in contact with the vendor and awaiting updated shipment estimates from them. We have a call scheduled first thing tomorrow morning and should get a bit more visibility in regards to when we can expect these in our warehouse. We will update the group as soon as these are on the way.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 10/28 or sooner if something comes up.

Thanks again for joining this drop! With your help we were able to make it successful for the community. We've just submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Yard-O-Led Viceroy Barley Fountain Pen and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them directly to you! The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 11/3.
Rest assured that we we will provide you all with updated information regarding the status of your order throughout the process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 10/26.

So how long was this drop? Two days? Not sure how I missed it. I look every day and Massdrop sends me at least one email a day about what's new. But I didn't get an email for this one. :(

I saw this drop for the first time this afternoon. It looks great, but the standard-size pen I want is "sold out." Can the drop be expanded?

I waited one day and the full sized model is gone. I think the general consensus is we want more of these on here and more models as well.

I have one of these pens. They are without a doubt up there with the finest pens I own.
The nibs are some of the softest and most pleasing to write with, although I would note that they are generally wetter and a bit wider than your average european size.
For @givoltage who asked about the "browning". These are solid sterling silver pens. What you are seeing is natural tarnish. If you live in an area that has a high amount of sulphur in the atmosphere (such as the swamp or near volcanoes) they will tarnish fairly rapidly (tarnish is silver sulphide and related compounds), although daily use will keep it to a minimum. In the desert it's not much of a problem. I find it only really noticeable when I put the pen away for a while. Some people feel that the tarnish (much like on copper and brass) adds to the natural beauty of the pen. For those that dislike it, Yard-O-Led provides a very nice silver polishing cloth.
The smaller "pocket size" pen is very slim (say 50% thicker than a bic) - if you have large hands you may find it a little uncomfortable. Personally I still like mine. At this price I am definitely thinking about getting his big brother.
The Barleycorn design is very beautiful and detailed and well etched into the silver. The pens are also all numbered.
Hope that stream of consciousness helps!

robert.harrisThanks for the review and explanation. Now I recall that one of my Montegrappa pens made of sterling silver had the same issue. Polishing/brushing the pen solved the problem and restored the shine.
